Since I took the time to look it up.

A meme (rhymes with "team") behaves like a flu or a cold virus, traveling from person to person quickly, but transmitting an idea instead of a lifeform. According to Cecil Adams of theStraightDope.com, the concept of memes "is either really deep, or really, really obvious".

What is straight dope?

I don't get why those who are otherwise devoid of culture feel the need to steal a French word,
change its meaning, AND mispronounce it.

poignant question since I have to build a meme web app for a client. no idea what it is really.

think I'll just buy an IR camera instead.

edit: oh my... if it was a shark it woulda bit me. this apparently is a meme. wonder if it's what the client wants.

For what it's worth, nature, DMT and mouse, those are all image macros, which is a specific type of meme.

Image macros are memes, but not all memes are image macros, kinda like square:rectangle.

Seems like someone who's internet illiterate saw how many hits that word gets on google and said "Yeah. That. We should do that."

And then tricked you into having to figure it out. :p
