love this guy
a fresh new look (although he is the "late" rick roderick) at philosophy. Always tying into the modern culture and always challenging common interpretations. He's a Marxist and leftist (I'm neither) which comes across, but he always makes you think outside the box.

His lectures available at a number of different locations including The Teaching Company, but here is one link

http://larshjo.tihlde.org/roderick/

I suggest you try this Nietzsche series first...
YMMV

Isn't it axiomatic that only a plebe would let somebody else tell them how
to interpret Nietsche? Kinda like having Marx tell you about Adam Smith. ;-)

Well one of his themes is how no one can authoritatively tell you how to interpret anything... He frequently makes jokes about his being a philosophy prof advising students to question authority. ... only to turn around and grade their papers. In my judgement he handles the 'authoritative interpretation' issue better than anyone I've read..... Although too far to the left and you can get a lot of freeform philosophers proclaiming junk interpretations.... sort of like Supertaco. :)
