Jennie is not with me. I miss her tremendously.

http://www.movinglives.org.

My "section" is under Immigration Status.

But look at "Anna's" situation (Human Trafficking), she had had it rougher than any of us
How she survived? Fair play to her.

I can go on, but I am crying.

I miss Jennie.

These take you there directly. A lot better use of your time than some of the standard fare on the STF (IMO?).

Thank you Jaybro and zBrown

This is an issue, not only in Ireland but also my country, the United States of America.

And in my native California.

We are all human. Whether we climb, or just survive, we are all of the same ilk. We are all homo sapiens sapien.

I want to thank the Immigrant Council of Ireland, for giving me the right to live here. But it is condtional upon me being Jennie's carer. That may no longer be the case. The council and I may have to submit a new application.

My father's family, Sawyer, moved to America in 1640. We fought the British in 1776, the second person to sign the Decaration of Independence, Josiah Bartlett (no, not Martin Sheen's portrayal in the West Wing TV series) is in my family tree. So is Mark (Samuel Clemens) Twain.

I have Irish, Scottish, Welsh, English, German and Choctaw (we thought it was Cherokee but recent research...) coursing through my veins.

But first and foremost, I am a human from the planet Earth.

I can still climb, and I will. I led a HVS (5.9) recently, and I will hit the ice and the mountains when I can, with all respects and diligence to Jennie, if I am allowed such a privilege.

Jaybro, it is more than poignant. These are people we are looking at.

We look, in our safe confines.

Poigant has no place. Reality does.

I have met these people and I know your background, somewhat, I believe you have too, met such people.

Supertopo is not just about climbing, as such, we speak of our lives.

The Taco Stand is a forum I can express myself. Not only as a climber, but as a person.

More to come as I have food on the grill.

hey there, say patrick... thanks for sharing...
i have not seen the link, yet...

am helping a friend, by phone and have to call my mom, soon...

but i did see something about a 'conditional being allowed to stay'
as jennie's caretaker... so then, if not, you must leave?

also, HOW is jennie, do you know,? will anyone, yet share any info?

will get back to you... hang in there...
i am so very sorry to hear this for you...
prayers and we are all here to talk to...

edit:
wow, patrick... i did get to see the clip now...

so then, three more years, they say, and you can apply for citizenship, then... but, you still have to be allowed, each year...
and as long as you do NOT fail, each year??? then, you will be
accepted, is that it?

This thread is not about me. Not about climbing.

This thread is about people who migrate towards what they feel is a better life for themselves and their loved ones.

I am just an example. Yes, I could live in comfortable ease in California.

I live here in Ireland, not a bad place by any means, but I love an Irish woman, and I stay. Does she love me? With her medical condition?

I can only hope.

However, putting my story besides, there are people, lives, families, out there with hope.

http://www.movinglives.org

Chuck Feeney, an Irish-American, he had over $7 billion, he is now worth less than $2 million. The rest he gave away, secretly. He donated to people in a number of countries. He inspired Bill Gates and Warren Buffet, and others, to give their fortunes.

I have no such money. When Jennie and I had some money, we gave, direct debit monthly, to eight charities.

Now I search for a penny. I long that I will see Jennie again.

But I believe in people.
