hey there say, ... found an unknown 'trail' here at my weather report link, with the satellite weather, etc...

a link to '10 STRANGEST fall festivals' was curious, AND clicked to go see
what the list had, AND:

THIS WAS ONE OF THE LINKS:

http://officialbridgeday.com/

OH MY, never knew they had an official day for this at:

New River Gorge -- west virginia...

HAVE any of you base jumpers here, gone there...
i have not kept up on these things, though i know a few folks,
AND our own taco-friends, of course,
here at taco, DO do this...

WHAT, please do you think about this?

1--good or well done event?

2--look forward to it, or not?

3--to much hype, too crowded, avoid it?

4--also, who else shows up, photographers, etc, magazine writers?

5--any etc, i am curious to understand...

__
here is their 'catch ad'__

Countdown to Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014! Catch the BASE jumpers leaping 800+ feet into the New River Gorge below, or being launched by the Human Catapult! Rappelling, skydiving, and more adventure abound. You ready?

hey there, say, sketch... thanks for chipping in...

yeah, kind of odd when there is a ' national SOMETHING DAY ' and
not many folks know about it...

many times, perhaps it is a 'statewide' home-type day,
being 'national' as to invite many folks from all over, as the
long range goal...

thanks for the added info, too...

I've watched long ago(2003), but never truly been in it. It is really about the party and reuniting with old friends from what i understand, let alone a nice safe object for the most part, unless you go the wrong direction and hit the rappel lines that go to the deck. many people travel from all over to play on this day and it is wild to see if one has never experienced such shenanigans. glad you could appreciate neebee, take care.
