Hmm. I used to be so fascinated by Everest, by the story, the heroes, the villains, the death... and we have fvcked all that up. That is nothing new, we do it all the time, but we just don't let there be unreachable places anymore. At some point some azzwhole decides that each place needs to be accessible to everyone, because it is "fair." The world isn't fair or unfair, there is just a set of circumstances you must navigate... I want to attribute that quote but the name fails me, was in the last issue of Surfer's Journal 23.3...

That's one of the things I liked about the film, that it showed a time of much more humility, respect and adventure.
