I'm starting to climb again after eight months off due to spinal surgery. Looking to toprope at Planet Granite in Sunnyvale on Tues/Thurs nights starting around 6ish.
I have a lead card, but probably won't lead myself until the surgeon clears it (5 or 6 months from now). All abilities welcome, just looking for a safe and experienced belayer.
Email me directly if interested, either thru supertopo or basement dot cat at rhysw dot com

Yahoo! Maybe I will sled on down there for a Saturday session, as long as this no-snow thing keeps going on.

Thanks all for the good wishes !
Daphne, if you are heading south and it isn't raining, then we should go to Pinnacles :)

Thanks Steve ! PGSV is working out fine so far.
I also got a pair of belay glasses, because of all the fused vertebrae in my neck and back now -

They fit over my regular glasses just fine. Quality seems good.

Hi,
Can anybody confirm a story about a fiasco regarding a knee stuck in a crack in PGSV. Something involving the fire department, and remodeling the crack with a saw last night? Most likely that fist/hand stack just next to the chimney in the "ice box".
Thanks,

shiro-- when did this supposedly happen? Recently?
It seems possible to get your knee stuck in that crack...

Feet-stacking works a lot better than a knee in that one! But definitely possible to get a knee stuck in it. Easier to never put it in for that reason.

I hear it was quite recent, last couple nights or so. The story I heard was somewhat vague.
I have always employed a combination of foot stacks and frantic slipping similar to a panicked cat climbing ice.

OW fail and crack damage confirmed, see the picture
if you haven't climbed it before-- the damage to the crack is a spot where it opens up a bit, and those with bigger legs can finally get a knee lock in
