Klaus offered to show us all where the routes go. Roger and I spent a bit of time at the base, and feel like we have a pretty good idea but it can be hard to get that across on a two dimensional page, so thought it might be nice for folks to see here(we'll have photos in the book but the base is pretty small in a 7x10 photo of the SE Face).

Left to right:

Eagles Way
On the Waterfront
High Plains Dripper
Get Whacked
Pressure Cooker
Waterfall Route

You can see why Klaus is well known as Mr. Friendly.

Erik - your photo looks like it was taken pre-rockfall. The fifth pitch of Waterfall Route no longer exists!

Thanks Mark! It's all good....just trying to find out where routes go(If I got it wrong, which seems unlikely considering I talked to folks who did the routes or watched them get climb:). Like I said it's hard to get a bunch of features accurately on a topo.

Rip it up Klaus. Here is the online editor:

Pete, that photo is a screenshot from xrez.com. The rockscar is above...pretty sure only the first 3.5 of waterfall are visible. Draw the line better if I missed it?

nopantsben-Cmac's topo guide sales support this Forum.

Sloan's guide directly undercuts his business.

If that support dries up then this Forum may very well disappear too.

He has no obligation to keep this going.

Glad that other folks like RR see the basic problem here.

hmm, i don't know, i am pretty sure that very few people are going to buy erik's book but not chris' book.
they are two completely different books. maybe it's the same people pretty much who buy them, but they won't buy one and think they no longer need the other esp. when it comes to the supetopo.

also, traffic on this site is good for chris and if it's all wings of steel and republicans and guns then there are a lot of clicks but very few individual visitors ... haha.

most importantly, eriks and rogers topos are available online for free - they are doing something much more relevant for climbing in yosemite than all the preachers taken together.

Hey Erik,

Please tell Roger that I have a very nicely drawn Horseplay topo that I drew just for him, because he helped me out schlepping a load.

I also need to grab some info off my topos you gave me - can you guys please check your emails?

Cheers and keep up the good work! McTopo is a tremendous information sharing resource. Anyone else need El Cap beta, just send me a note and I'll share what I have.

Cheers, eh?

Well climbing could use more CMACS and Eriks.

Both contribute more than most.

Good enough for me.
