Shot this one in the Spitzkoppe in Namibia. How many of you guys have climbed there? I really liked it, felt like an African Tuolumne. Separated it from the other thread because I especially liked it. There was also a bolt on the face of this arch...

Thanks everyone for the replies!

Donini - I'm already planning a return trip as well although mine might be in about a year and a half to 2 years. How short is your short list?

sierraledgerat- The image is a composite of about 15 images. I bring them into photoshop using the overlay images script. Then just go to blend settings and hit lighten. Definitely the easiest way to do these type of images, as far as I know. I don't have a good wide lens so it was taken at 18mm with the magnification added by using a 7d which is about 1.3 or 1.6, I forget which one. The f-stop was about 5.6 (like I said, not the best lens) and each shot was 58 seconds long. I used a relatively noisy 640ISO to compensate for my crappy f-stop. The first picture I took my headlamp and painted the archway. The rest of the images it is unnecessary to do so.

Theres the long explanation to a short question!

Nice job on capturing the colors of the stars vs having them stark white. Dialed...

Gosh, that looks like it's fun, sitting around stoning and listening to music while the camera does the trick!
Just kidding.
I like the pioneer among us, however, and his progeny, too.
