i'm afraid that if i buy da brim, i'll be wearing my helmet more than i want to.
and how could you do the steck-salathe? i'd finally have to take that off my list.
and really, locker, can't we get past the primary colors? if you could make it look like a oaxacan sombrero, i'd get a wee bit closer to popping the buck.

I've never understood how anyone could even wear a baseball cap under a helmet.
Aside from the extreme hassles it would pose in an OW or chimney just getting
slings off would have me cursing a blue streak, maybe even a blue butt plug streak!
Of course, I suppose one has to give it up to maintain such a commendable
fashion statement as the above so beautifully illustrates!

Exactly! Form over function, to some kind of degree.

I'm a strong believer in judging a climber by their gear.
So... no, I wouldn't.

My partner uses a similar foam/velcro visor on his helmet, but it only goes in front or back and was 99c at some yard sale.
My wife has used similar visors when running or at the beach.

Yup, true, Da brim is awful and some nutter thought it was a good idea. Funny though , I remember when it was all the rage for the bad ass Valley hardmen to wear a big old cheap straw hats around the Ditch and camp 4 weekenders were lining up to partner with them.

See! A sombrero or beach hat (like Locker's) says to a potential partner:
"Yes, of course I am concerned about skin cancer, but a brain injury is secondary to looking good."
