This is my favorite climbing picture; it speaks to everything climbing was and is to me. I unfortunately never got to climb with Jim, but only with a few of his partners back East. My loss and so I'd love to hear any stories you have if any of you managed to cross paths or share a rope with him...

I don't know of any stories, but there is a nice plaque in Jim's memory at Ragged Mountain in CT. Fitting seeing that Ragged is the most traditional of any crags that I know of.
He has a legacy, that's for sure

"foggy conditions"... One could also comment on the EB's and the makeup of the rack. One could also comment on Climbing selling for a buck and a half.

I met Jim briefly in camp four a few days before he died. one day we came back into camp and he was laughing with some of his friends and looking att hat magazine. He seemed a little shy about it, I thought.
A couple of days later I went and had an epic on Mt Watkins, and came back to find he had his on Sentinnel. It put my own troubles in perspective.

Dru - Daisy Dukes?

Hmmm, sounds like he was pretty low key until that sad day on Sentinel and didn't get a chance to interact with many of you. He's just going to be an enigma to me forever I guess. Have to get back East again and get on some of his routes...
