A friend and I are hoping to check out the original route on Mt. Hooker. We'll probably not strictly follow the original route, but rather the 1990 free variation. I'm just curious if anyone on here has some information about the climb itself. Any information such as rack recommendations, bivy info, finding the climb, and the like would be much appreciated.

Was just in there last week and make sure you bring a fishing rod a Baptise Lake is full of big trout. It looks like the west side of the wall get some sun late in the afternoon, but bring the down cause that wall looks like a cold place. Not many free-climbable looking features on the Northern aspect of the wall so I am assuming that the origional route is on the west as there are many dihedrals over there. Probably not much help, but that is one of the cooler looking walls I have seen. Good luck.

Bump before I head back into the winds for a few days. Thanks for the fishing tip. I love fishing the winds (even though I'm possibly the worst fisherman to ever touch a fly rod). It's great to see a picture of the place!

Anyone out there have any experience with the wall?
