My good friends, now comes the starving artist… in the process of trying to finish the second part of “The Disciples of Gill.” Part one has been well received (Eric Horst calls it “one of the best climbing films of all time”). My initial 20-venue tour was a grand success. I will finish part two of the film and complete the whole project of a 2-in-one DVD with a nice booklet if I can get a little help from my friends, as the song goes. It will happen quick if everyone will pitch in at least some small amount. Even twenty dollars would help, and I know things are tough in this economic nightmare. But if enough of my friends catch the vision and jump in… the smaller contributions will add up. The new second part starts off with a wonderful commentary by Ron Kauk, in Yosemite. All those who contribute will get their name on the credits of the film, of course, and, right away, will get a CD of the music (which a lot of people have liked and requested). We, John Gill’s disciples, can pay tribute to the master, a most worthy individual. Please help out, and also spread the word. Let your friends know. Send (as soon as you can) whatever amount you can afford to: Pat Ament / 213 N. Mulberry St. #7 / Fruita, Colorado / 81521. Blessings and my very best to you all, Pat

Hi, Mark.
Thanks for asking about the leg. It took a full month for the pain to subside. It was hideous. But slowly it healed and seems now to be doing fine. I guess I should boulder with a spotter or a top rope, in my old age. It has been good to see you here on Supertopo. I haven't been very active recently because of a pretty awful divorce I've been swallowed by, but I am ready to get back to the Gill film and finish the second part. Mark, did you do a lot of bouldering? I wish I had known you and climbed with you, one of my heroes I haven't yet met...

Thanks,
no, not much. I bouldered of course but never much and I was never too good at it, I don't think I ever did anything really hard.

Just so I understand,... a contribution of at least $20 gets both disks when finished? Or does $20 get a CD of the music? It's hot here tonight and everyone in the house is speaking Russian so I am easily confused.

If you get J. Gill to sign it, i would pay fifty bucks. No credits needed.

Jaybro,

My wife's family arrived last night from Sevastopol and now I am the odd man out. It's cool though, at least I feel I don't have to be responsible for keeping the conversation going!

Next week... six Russians (and me) in a van for 3,000 miles of fun!

II would do $50 for a signed (Gill/Ament) set

Just as a small thanks, I wanted to send a copy of the sound track
of the first film, to those who contribute, in that so many have
said they liked the music a lot.

Just thought I'd bump this, as it goes down and out of sight
pretty fast. Some nice contributions so far, but I need more.
I am grateful to anyone who wants to take part... (it will
bring good karma, of that you can be certain!).

I will be sending some clams for sure Pat!

But I want to be interviewed and choose the music and lots of pictures of me climbing...... HA! Kidding of course.

Contribution sent. No need for credits, it's worth supporting someone who has produced so many fine books over the years.

Thanks so much Crunch. I greatly appreciate the thought.
It seems strange all those books are out of print now, almost as
though they never happened... I have a couple new ones in the making,
but I have had trouble focusing enough to finish them...

Good luck with this.

I own almost all, of those books...

How come that weasel Meg Whitman can raise millions in a few weeks, and we can't get two nickels together for D.O.G. II ?

Who is Gill? That's worthy of a bump.
Let's go, my friends, we're almost there.
