climbed it in october of 2010. the "desert tower" was still definitely there, if maybe slightly shorter than expected, I imagine the top may have been trundled off.

The approach took us 3.5 hours, and its brutal. I'm sure if you've done it before its easier / faster, but for a first time hiking back there allow a little extra time.

The climbing is stellar, with a comfy bivi ledge, amazing setting, interesting well protected cruxes and bomber stainless at the belays. Well worth the hike in - highly recommended.

It has come to my attention that a feature on the 6th pitch of this route called the "desert tower" is no longer there. The pictures recently posted show some of the carnage. Apparently the pitch is still climbable. We placed bolts on the first ascent to the side of this feature on the wall that now will probably seem somewhat out of place.
