Overview
In 2004, a fire raced up the hillside around Sugarloaf and roasted the forest. In the aftermath, many boulders that had been hidden in dense brush emerged, and a new bouldering area appeared. I say new tentatively, because some these boulders are close to the Sugarbun and may have seen some activity in the past. If they did, it wasn’t much, and no evidence remained when Scott Perry started developing the place almost single-handedly. Now there are nearly sixty problems found, and only a fraction have been cleaned and climbed. This is a great place to boulder in the winter.
