Approach time: 1-15 minutes
Season: November-May
Number of problems: 200
Type of rock: Granite
Overview

The Purgatory area features over 50 granite boulders a few hours north of Reno. The rock is similar to Joshua Tree meaning its has lots of friction and works your fingers. Please treat these areas with great respect and keep a low profile in order to help preserve access. Also, be aware that in Nevada, activities such as small animal trapping, hunting, shooting, mining and motorcycle riding are legal and popular. Please try and get along with
other users of these areas.
