Trip Report
a little coolness all around us, if you look
Sunday June 15, 2014 10:15pm
Happy Father's Day!
It was a nice quiet day, had the better half's mom up for the weekend, but she left this morning. Took the kids to a new park, then the children's museum in Carson, then home for a nap. When they went down, I took the dog and some gear and went exploring up C-hill in Carson City. There's some rocks I wanted to check out.
I may sound like an ass here on the forums some times, but when I go out I try to find a little something cool on every trip.
So here's to family, friends, climbing, and finding a little coolness all around us.

Although I wore harness and rope, with a rack of slings, hexes, and nuts, the hike up was longer than I'd expected (man I'm outa shape) so I decided not to actually climb this time. Just exploratory. But I couldn't pass a short boulder on the way down.

and to add a spot of coolness, I saw a pair of juvenile golden eagles perched in a tree on the way there. A little coolness everywhere.

jonnyrig pretends to be a climber from time to time. In real life he's a beer swilling, gun-toting, redneck mofo who forgets his true political alliance and votes liberal. Or conservative. or independent. Wait... climbing! yeah... like vertical and stuff. You mean like Yoosemite? No, I mean, like, stairs and stuff.

I bet RA et all bouldered all this stuff BITD. The grassland i think used to be more sage and trees, and has somewhat burned. But that reminds me of the true rolling grassland i grew up next to, dotted by valley oak that was fun to climb. All housing now.
