TADMO BL TRIPS #3 SoCal
Friday December 29, 2017 8:59am
Well Mo and I put over 1700 miles on the TADMO BL with a trip to SoCal to visit my Brothers for Christmas.

The I-5 drive south Sat. the 23rd sucked big time due to the holiday traffic,
took us 12 hours to go from Redding to Oceanside when normally it takes me 10.
With the slow ride behind us we had a good time with my Bros. and family. :)

Sunday Bro Chad and I just chilled, watched football together, ate well and I pounded some brews.

Christmas day Monday morning we all headed to Riverside to wish our departed parents happy holidays and surprise my Bro Ned and his family.
He was moved to tears with our surprise visit, we had Xmas dinner with them and spent the night there.

Tuesday the 26th we rose early to make a trip to Joshua Tree.
We had not visited there in 25 years so the transformation of the NP and the growth of Yucca Valley and Joshua Tree were shocking. Did some hiking and EZ climbing with my Niece Haley and Nephew Kyle. After spending the day in the NP
we returned to Oceanside for the night.

Wednesday was coast day, we cruised the PCH between Oceanside and La Jolla,
walked and hung out at beaches enjoying the warm weather.

Thursday we headed home, this time the drive was less congested and we made it home in 10 hours.
The TADMO BL performed flawlessly, averaged 26 mpg. and pulled the grapevine easily at 70 mph. :)
Both Bros. really liked the conversion work I did to the van and now Bro Chad is considering getting one for himself. :)

Life is good!

Together we will travel,

Tad! Thanks for sharing the fun. Looks like a great time was had by all.

One question? That 26 mpg figure is simply amazing to see, since my Toyota 4-Runner with a 6-cylinder engine averages about 21 mpg in two-wheel drive mode. What does your van have for an engine? Are you keeping your speed below 60mph, or are you simply a miracle-worker?

Word,
lost and gone forever, 1st time I've had to pay to get in. :(

Fritz,
a small Fiat diesel, average speed 75 mph when traffic allowed. :)

Are you sure your brotherís name is not Nat? Tad, Chad, and Nat!

Moose;
It's Ned, Dad's favorite number was 4 so he made sure all our names ended in D, the 4th letter in the alphabet.
He even named our dog Fred. LOL

remind me/us what the BL stands for.

Hooblie;
TAD, my name + Mo, short for Maureen, + BL as in Mobile. ;)

Dingus; backatcha, feel better eh!

What a trip, man.

The trippiest one you've done.

Twenty-five years after, man.

Will you EVAH plan on taking the slow ride over to the Down East?
