Climbing is not all fun and games.

Sometimes you gotta just fill your haul bag with rocks, tie it off and grovel up some choss.

I picked Sunset Tower because it was close to the road and I could haul ice to the base to keep my beer cold.

With ice cold beer and too much gear I was pretty confident on sending, so I hired a sherpa to haul my sh#t to the base.

I got half way up the first pitch before I ran out of beer. I decided it would be best to fix a rope and head down.

The next day I had more beer and gear.

All in all it was a pretty easy climb.

On my way home I saw spotlights and flashing lights by a cliff that base jumpers jump and thought "oh boy someone got hurt" not even thinking it was Ammon, but it was. Thankfully he made it out. Cheers brother!

Dig yer belay setup. I have historically tied together a bunch of rock plates as a deadman, but the haulbag opens doors...

Good to see another heeler hard at work guarding the beer stash and ensuring good belay technique by the deadman.

And three cheers for Ammon's support network! Even Pyrat of his caliber can use a gawdamn hug sometimes.

Thanks Cowboy. I've been using the haul bag anchor for years.

Riley, there is a lifetime of choss here. You should come down.

Susan. Glad you were able to see Ammon. Lets get out and climb something.
