OT Nice Day for a Gay Wedding OT
Sunday July 21, 2013 6:57pm
"Marriage is the triumph of imagination over intelligence. Second marriage is the triumph of hope over experience." -- Oscar Wilde

On occasion I'm asked to shelve the chip on my shoulder and do the right thing. The prospect of attending my ex husband's gay wedding, seeing former friends and relations, equaled facing a firing squad without blindfold or cigarette.

Who knew I'd end up having a fabulous time?!

Happy to report this wedding will not include Corinthians 13, priests, the Chicken Dance or Pachelbel's Canon.

Wow ...
Great stuff

They look very happy .

And you are remarkable for being so supportive in a situation where there must be so many thoughts and emotions ..

Really makes me happy that the gay community is getting the right to be happy and is no longer treated as poorly as they have been.
If people could just have some empathy for others ...it would be so much easier.

I think what really touches me in this is the obvious love you have for your ex, how you want him to be happy, many of us have been in that situation, but this is one more step beyond! And how happy you are for the newlyweds!!

Nice Send, Sully!!

Thanks all. Heart-to-hearts with two former sisters in law followed by kind approaches by those pictured in my wedding album from 23 years ago pretty much put to rest leftover resentment.
