Here is how to watch it:

1) you need software called QuickTime. If you don't have it, you can download it for free here: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/

2) turn up the volume

3) click on this link: AND THEN WAIT 1-2 MINUTES. the file is big and on a dial up it could take 30 minutes to download

About the Author
Ian is a man of the mountains. His overwhelming desire to spend as much time in them as possible has been the reason for him to spend the last seven years living in small rooms in dusty basements cluttered with gear and in the back of his pickup (sometimes in the parking lot of the local climbing gym). This drive and focus have taken Ian into the Kichatna Spires of Alaska and the Waddington Range of British Columbia (with the help of two Mountain Fellowship Grants from the American Alpine Club) as well as extensive trips through much of the Western United States and Canada. His pursuit of guiding has been tenacious. He is the youngest person to pass his American Mountain Guides Assn Rock and Alpine Guide exams (on his way towards becoming a fully certified International Federation of Mountain Guides Associations guide). Ian also holds an American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education (AIARE) Level 3 certification as well as an AIARE Level 1 avalanche instructor certification. Ian is currently developing a new SuperTopo guidebook for Washington pass in the North Cascades. He is newly associated with the American Safe Climbing Association after replacing nearly 100 bolts in the last 2 1/2 years. As a sign of his achievements in the mountain world, Ian recently moved into a ground level apartment, complete with a room exclusively for his mounds of gear.

Nice! I don't know much about this program - any way to increase the size of the slides? The little thumbnails I got didn't allow for much grandeur, but hinted at some killer photos.

Beautiful photos, Chris.

Now, I'm not much of a snow-person any more (Raynaud's Syndrome freezing fingers)...but the stark beauty of those Whitney shots made me wish I was a snow-person again! ;-)

Thank you so much for putting this show together...I really enjoyed it.

That was fun. Plus the music: "Connected" by "Stereo MC's".

For those that want to adjust the size of the sucker, download and save it, then play it in VLC or DivX where you can adjusted it. If you are uptodate the movie will play embedded in Safari probably where it is trapped as a thumbnail sort of. It wants Quicktime 7 (pro?) also while Quicktime is now 10.

Another thing, in the “About the Author” element, the author is someone named Ian (no last name) but with Chris Mac’s portrait.... please advise, ST staff.

Why is it that the photo, and name, say "Chris McNamara", but the fine print says: Ian is a man of the mountains. His overwhelming desire to spend as much time in them as possible has been the reason for him to spend the last seven years living in small rooms in dusty basements cluttered with gear and in the back of his pickup (sometimes in the parking lot of the local climbing gym). Etc etc.

Who's Ian?
