Bishop

Thought I would give Big Mike some more eye candy to look at while he's recovering in the hospital. Here is a super brief stack of photos from the trip Curtis and I did in February.

Curtis waiting for the ladies to show up at Hilltop. It was our first stop upon arriving in Bishop.

The first day in climbing in the Happies was your typical sunny affair.

We took a day off our second day there to try and keep or hands alive skin-wise. So we hung out with Matt and some of his friends from Arcata in the Buttermilks.

We briefly met Jason from Bishop and his friends while we were chilling in the dying sun at Ironman.

I finally got to visit the Sads this trip. It's such a nicely stacked area of problems. Matt got on Lawnmower Man and struggled here doing the biggggg reachy crux move.

RyanD told me that I had to get on this problem. It was the most fun one I got on for sure, such nice boob-like holds. Never sent it though, next time!

Curtis finally got over his nasty cold he had the whole trip and decided to flash his last problem before flying back home to work. He showed all the locals what was up, Squamish style.

Looks like there's lots to do. I wonder how much more has been done since the last time I was there in 1992.The pads certainly make it more appealing but with a bad back it's still not enough. I'm waiting for the air pads to be invented, similar to air bags they inflate when said body is rocketing to the ground. Might be wating a long time. Nice TR

Where is your fishing pole? The Lower Owens is sick this time of year.

Ain't the Eastside too cool for school?

You bouldered at the Hive before Harry? It wouldn't be that much different with enough foam under you.

When I am climbing in Bishop I am always amazed to see how many older, like senior citizen types walking into the Happies with a pad on their back. It's pretty cool. We usually only ever see those guys on ropes in Squamish.

Ya Wayno, I love the east side life!

So much Las Palmas... Mmmm. I tried Astorgas once. The chili Rellano there was super yum, just not as good a value as Las Palmas. Went to Thai Thai once. It was a nice change. Fresh tasting food. Dean Potter was sitting behind us. Saw him working on Flight of the Bumblebee. What a line that is. Pitching off that at the top would be ummm, not so nice.

Thanks for the pics. Did you go bouldering because there is to much snow to hike into some real climbing?
