Trip Report
An Apology~~ a climbers trip report.
Wednesday July 16, 2014 2:47pm
Sorry to detract from all the drama queens but I went climbing last week and wanna spray about it.

The desert heat was making me lethargic and I didn't want to leave the house. I had maxed out on the cheez-it challenge and needed something to do.

I found out that an acquaintance of mine was camp hosting at Maple Canyon and was looking for partners. So I packed up the car and headed out.

Maple Canyon is right in the heart of Morman country.

Michelle claimed that she sucked and only climbed easy stuff. I was like sweet. Smoke weed, drink beer, climb easy stuff. I'm down.

I guess she thinks 10b is easy.

After a week of cobble pulling I was in need of a resupply and the close town of Fountain Green, despite its name, was not going to be able to help me. Now I'm back in the hot desert with a full sack and an empty box of Cheez-its.

Heading home.

Seems like an ongoing theme around here Jebus. Maybe I should just take the high road.

Ryan. It's amazing. It looks like a choss farm but is pretty solid. Only one fall from a broken hold.

Edit~~ and once again I apologize.

I didn't bring my helmet because I was going sport climbing. Never seen so many sportos helmeted up. I only got hit a couple of times. I've got a hard head.

I need to make amends. I have a confession to make. I must atone, seek forgiveness, apologize. So back in the 90s I went to Maple Canyon (when it was fairly new for climbing) with Josť. And even though there were just these wimpy-ass little sport climbs with all kinds of bolts so very close together and even though I could see places for natural pro but it just wasn't convenient to place it (OK, maybe not this last point), I never-the-less struggled on some of the routes we did and had trouble clipping bolts and took some whippers and even got so pumped out of my head that I couldn't hang on anymore.

Sorry, sorry, so sorry.
