Yosemite Valley, California USA

Trip Report
3 days on the Prow
Saturday April 27, 2013 11:58am
Perfect fall weather and our pick of climbs (thanks to the Hantavirus) we set our sites on the Washington Column. This was going to be both our first trip up a big wall.
Got our bags packed, hopped on one of the valley shuttles and headed out on a great adventure up the Prow!

Me starting off on pitch 3. The first few moves out left from the roof were pretty exciting. Definitely started to notice the air below us and the awesome view of the valley. Be careful of the gear eating crack here, I ended up losing a orange master cam

Way to go!
The Prow is a beautiful route. It was my first big wall. We didn't have a portaledge. One night I had to belay my partner some 50 feet up and over to a small ledge he could sleep on (he lost the ro-sham-bo). I also remember a lot of fixed copperheads which made the climbing physically easy, but mentally exhausting.

Nice job!

Nice Job! TFPU, the prow looks like a sick line. I've always wanted to do that one but I never seem to be in the valley when the temps are right.

Bump for good climbing content!!
