He forgot to mention how Bush jr placed Karzai, a former consultant for Chevron, into power in the Afghani government so that he would be friendly towards prospects of developing pipelines through Afghanistan to funnel natural gas from Kazakhstan and other northern provinces.

I like this blog:

http://tinyurl.com/kthm8b (for you, Rokjox)

Quote from blog:

"We are not in Afghanistan for any of the following reasons ;

1) Helping the children
2) Helping the women
3) Stopping the heroin
4) Fighting terrorism
5) Stopping terrorism in the UK

There is in fact two reasons why we are in Afghanistan, and why British soldiers are dying, and that is for ;

1) Oil

2) Gas"

Is it political even if it's the truth?

Just because it's conspiracy theory doesn't mean it's not true.

I mean, let's face. There's a lot of natural gas up north of the country!

Pate - you blamed the death of some soldiers that died in a helicopter crash on Afghanis when the real cause was bad weather. Wtf do you know about Afghanistan?

Suck it, queerboy.

EDIT: RETARD. I didn't say IN Afghanistan. I said NORTH of Afghanistan.

Someone should tell the new dude about the thousands of people that died in the world trade center towers when some wack jobs hijacked and drove our airplanes into them. He thinks its only about Oil and gas.

BTW, we already know about the Oil new dude, it's been discussed at length. I myself remember posting a picture of the Chevron tanker named after Condolissa Rice. The pipeline was the first project to get approved by the new government as the Talaban (who had recognized that they screwed up by not turning over Al Queda members who had admitted responsibility when we asked so politely) had rejected it.

No oil but lots of copper and other minerals.

Phelps Dodge just lost out to the PRC on a big copper development deal ostensibly because they wanted to wait till there was some semblance of stability. (More than likely it was because they were proscribed by US law from paying out healthy bribes and the PRC has no such compunctions.)

China said they'd start immediately.

How long till there's a Chicom corps in Kabul?

Or at least a division or so.

Pretty good attempt for three minutes, except that it would lead one to believe that Afghanistan has had several central governments. It has always been an uneasy collection of tribes that spend most of their time stealing from each other when there's no common foe to pick on.

(no different from innumerable tribal regions throughout history.)

RJ, You didn't like my tinyurl, I take it?

I'm aware that there's no oil and also aware of the WTC. Just adding to the awareness about Karzai. And there is nat gas north of the country.

I didn't even know that Karzai worked for Chevron until one of my oil buddies pointed it out to me. Just seems a bit off that a former Chevron oil consultant would be appointed as head of the country immediately after its invasion?

Or is that just paranoia? I don't know, but something to think about. That's all I have to say about that.

RJ - He drew first blood.

I can't even go back in there to help editorialize his editorialization. . . so. . . keep on keepin' on, dadz . . . maybe one day I'll be able to get to the heart of the matter.

eKat - that picture is awesome! Where is it?

And the link works fine for me, btw. It was a good rundown in 3 minutes. The part about "The Paris of Afghanistan" or whatever is true. I've heard that before from my parents.

On February 12, 1998, John J. Maresca, vice president, international relations for UNOCAL oil company, testified before the US House of Representatives, Committee on International Relations. Maresca provided information to Congress on Central Asia oil and gas reserves and how they might shape US foreign policy. UNOCAL's problem? As Maresca said: "How to get the region's vast energy resources to the markets." The oil reserves are in areas north of Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Russia. Routes for a pipeline were proposed that would transport oil on a 42-inch pipe southward thru Afghanistan for 1040 miles to the Pakistan coast. Such a pipeline would cost about $2.5 billion and carry about 1 million barrels of oil per day.

Maresca told Congress then that: "It's not going to be built until there is a single Afghan government. That's the simple answer."

None of those wackjobs were Afghani, but most were Saudi, and their cell was in Germany. How much evidence, 8 years later, shows how much, if ANY, was Afghanistan involved in 9-11?

What do you call a guy in a dress with his hand up a camel's ass?

An Afghani mechanic.

edit: The previous joke was about Afghani men in particular. Not beards. The joke is that Afghani woman are obscenely hairy. And that their sons like to look just like them. Get it now?
