So I imagine with the return of some warm weather, the hordes will be descending on Stoney this weekend..... Its still dripping wet with lots of life saving water seeping out from the cracks and crevices.
The ART removal in going good, we had a sort of a stand off with a group of taggers... It was just Joe and I and 5 of these young punks.
They now know that WE will paint over that sh#t just as soon as we see it.
Look for an announcement about a paint clean up... we have figured out the right colors and technique to cover that stuff up.... If we could get about 20-30 people out for a day we could erase 90% if that sh#t.
We need to figure out a way to erase the artist.

Hey all,
So I'm planning to come down here to climb this Saturday with a group of friends from the central valley. How has the weather been down here? I'm aware that the locals here don't like it when people climb after it has rained, so I'm just wondering would it be a good idea to come down this weekend.

It has been sunny for a week. Tomorrow will be 80 here but then down to 70 for Saturday. The rock should be dry enough to climb so have fun! Just don't wait until Sunday because it is going to rain again.

Season opener!! Good turnout last night, lots of people pulling hard, some good stuff got sent, nobody got hurt. Another perfect session except we learned of Royal Robbins passing which some of us spoke some words in respect of the man and his broad list of accomplishments.

Looking to plan up a memorial to Royal, when we do the spring hot dog roast in a few weeks.
Some of the kids do not know who he is- was.
I was showing that famous picture of him on the "phone booth" and they were all "thats rad."
I am sure we could dig up some more cool Royal/Stoney photos and tell some tall tails.

Hey folks!
I'll be in town to climb at Stoney Point for my first time tomorrow. I live in Berkeley now but I'm from LA and used to drive past Stoney Point all the time (before I started climbing), so I'm very excited to climb here. I've heard there's a Tuesday/Thursday regular crowd. What time do people usually arrive? Would love to meet some other climbers and have fun together! :)
Also: any idea what the crowd in general is like at different times throughout the day? Wondering if it's better for me to arrive late morning or later in the afternoon.

people go at all times. The 9-5 workers show up as soon as they can get their.... For me its like 5:30, but by the time I arrive tons of people are already at the popular boulders.

It was so nice to meet you and everyone else as well! I had a blast! Thank you all for being so awesome and welcoming :)
I wasn't able to make it back this morning, but did realize I left my chalk bag behind. I'll miss that lil panda. Perhaps my fellow gal pal who was there last night can give it a good new home.
Hope to see you all again someday!
