"According to a January 2013 Media Matters report, not a single climate scientist appeared as a guest on the influential Sunday morning television talk shows during the previous four years, nor were any climate scientists quoted. Most of those invited to speak on global warming were either media figures or politicians, but, among the politicians, not a single one was a Democrat. Climate change deniers on the shows went unchallenged. The nightly news shows had somewhat more coverage, and most of that was driven by extreme weather events, according to the report. But this coverage, too, was biased: 60 percent of the politicians on the air were Republicans."

Been a long day guys. I believe Chiloe wanted me to cite some papers to back up the claim that their are plenty of studies showing warmth all around the arctic exceeding today's temps. I guess chiloe and his compatriots are truly ignorant of the incredible resources available to us realists on the blogs they so hate. So guys chew on this wonderful resource for a while.

WTF Larry-did you follow up and read any of the actual papers? As far as criteria, i don't give a fk if the papers counter to the phony consensus meet the more stringent standards since they don't support the position of turning the world upside down into a self inflicted dark age. Where is Baffin Island in relation to Greenland ,Larry ,and what kind of peer review do you think this desperate long shot paper received?

I see Nature and Mono, at least, are reading some of the reality based stuff. Good for you guys, but their were two questions for the snow blower pitch man. I'm off to take the wife out. Thanks Norton for bringing that paper to our attention but I fear its life span as serious science is short. It will be torn to ribbons, and I don't even have to be the bad guy. If any serious papers come up don't forget to spray liberally all over the thread about it.

Here, call him ,or email him ,tell him he is stupid ,or he is guessing.

I'm afraid that his inbox is probably filling up with crank letters already, from people like Rick who can't read the article but know with certainty based on their politics that it's wrong.

Gifford Miller btw is a Professor of Geological Sciences as well as the Associate Director of the Institute for Arctic and Alpine Research at University of Colorado, Boulder.

A partial list of his research just for 2013 includes the following:
