Makes sense. It must be hard to be wrong all the time. Better to just delete his ignorantly adamant posts and pretend he never said such stupid sh#t. I'm sure he will have no problem convincing himself he was right all along. Willful ignorance.

(mono, curious... how do you know 709->708? That was a long time ago. What other info do you have? IP addresses for the same person using multiple anonymous accounts? That could be interesting.)

I saw it happen the first time, suspected it was Sumner, checked his post count and it was 709. When it happened again, it went to 708.

A Congressional task force of representatives and climate experts convened on Tuesday, where they concluded that the worsening of wildfires devastating the U.S. is in fact due to climate change, an unprecedented statement for a government body.

Obviously this Congressional task force needs Ron Anderson to set them straight.

How on Earth could such a group overlook the very obvious, that a one degree rise in temperature does not effect the size and scope of wildfires.

Thanks Ron for that refreshing glimpse back into reality.

Finally, some good news...

Aggressive energy efficiency efforts by households, companies and motorists led to the decline in carbon dioxide emissions from energy use in the United States, according to a recent report. The controversial finding contradicts recent studies that say the power sector's shift away from coal to cheap natural gas caused the bulk of reductions.

U.S. emissions last year fell by 205 million metric tons, or 4 percent, from 2011 levels. CO2 Scorecard Group, a small environmental research organization, says that nearly half the decline came from energy-saving measures such as retrofits and smarter appliances in homes and offices, as well as from Americans driving fewer miles, and using more fuel-efficient vehicles.

I could tell you WHY again, with exact proof , dates, facts, history and sciences involved.

No you can't.

I can tell you exactly what .09 of 1 degree means in terms of wildfires.

You can't even tell me what a 1 degree increase means in terms of boiling water.

Actually K-Man the U.S. is leading the world in reduction of CO2 emissions. We are down to the level of 1992. It is largely from switching to natural gas usage. I mention this not because i think the present levels of CO2 emissions are harmful but rather all the other pollutants commonly emitted with it. If the alarmist community would go to sleep, or take their happy pills and lighten up, the imaginary calamities would correct themselves as a natural outcome of evolution in the energy industry.

That's an interesting graph, The Chief. Out west, we have lots of Max temps (red and yellow). East, a slew of Mins (purple and blue).

A couple of weeks ago, there were record highs out East.

Keep watching...

That is pretty interesting, but it ain't from NOAA. It is from:

http://wx.hamweather.com/maps/climate/records/1week/us.html?cat=maxtemp,mintemp,snow,lowmax,highmin

via our favorite fact based website, wattsupwiththat:

http://wattsupwiththat.com/2013/07/30/july-ends-on-a-frigid-note-as-record-cold-outpaces-warmth-nearly-10-to-1/#more-90702

Anyone have the time to find similar data from previous years? A significant increase in the number of record setting temperatures (high or low) can have serious ecological and economic impacts.

These links should piss off both pro and con of the CAGW divide.I'm sure most of you have seen them before but this time read them carefully.Pay attention to the last paragraph of the formation section on the wiki link.

We climbers were the canaries in the mine as far as climate change. We were among the first to observe glacial recession. What to do about it is very debatable. But in view of all the accumulated scientific research and findings, at this time anyone who still questions it, not to mention intentionally denies it, is, to quote the unsubtle title of one of Ibsen's plays an "Enemy of the People". Trying to halt dealing with it is the exact modern equivalent, but far more serious and consequential, of fiddling while Rome's burning.

Sure, if you don't mind man setting the climate back millions of years, no problem, Chief.

I'd kinka like to wait a few million years for the next global natural catastrophe, if you don't mind, Chief.

Fhule:
what I am supposed to substantiate

Your claim that the masses actually give a shet about AGW. They don't.

I have never made that claim or something similar to that. All I did where to disprove your claims about 1% (a number that you can't even calculate).

It is of course nothing new in this discussion but it is impossibly to discuss things with you when the goal posts change all the time and details never matter.

Chief can't read graphs, but those who can might squint at the one he posted above and notice it lists Triassic CO2 as 201 ppm, and Cretaceous CO2 as 340 ppm, giving us rough benchmarks for reading the purple line. We know that CO2 today is at 400 ppm, which should be higher than the Cretaceous, but the graph shows it much lower. How can that be? One reason is that 0 million years before present, the right-hand boundary of the time line, does not necessarily round off to "present" -- a problem I wrote about several pages back. It's not clear what smoothing or averaging system was used, either.

The people who fed this graph to Chief probably know that, but they also know there are countless people out there like him who can't read graphs, but are eager to gullibly believe and pass along their political message.

And what about the super high Precambrian CO2 that it shows? Well, that's not what it seems either. One question you might ask is how people estimate what the CO2 levels were back then; others are what the solar conditions and the state of life on Earth were then. I might take that up later, or perhaps BASE will revisit this thread.

Sorry MONO, WRONG! Again

I guess that we should ignore absolutely everything that man can do to the enviroment because it is never going to be worse for humans than the earth where just after it come into existens. A nuclear war is for example nothing to be afraid of.

And you don't mind going back to the climate represented by these high CO2 numbers, Chief?
