Back once again to the physical world ... this is an interesting year for ice-watchers, predictions are all over the map. After a slow start the Arctic melt season seems to be speeding up. The East Siberian Sea alone lost about 200,000 square kilometers in the past week. Or as seen dimly out the window:

Obama to give major speech on global warming Tuesday:

Hey New World Order, I wasn't really making fun of you with that earlier deliberate typo. You have to admit, whether it's odor or order doesn't matter much!

Oh wonderful McHale. The Prophet of Doom preaching to his choir. Won't make any difference as he's already lowered the sea level and the cat is out of the bag on the CAGW sham.

Sorry to burst the conspiracy theory bubble but conglomerating something like anthropogenic climate change to conspiracy theories is exactly the game plan...

The "Crackpots" are the more verbose CAGW proponents Jebus. They have discredited themselves by one failed dire prediction after the other. If you have kids and want a future of opportunity and prosperity for them, or if you just want to continue to live the life of relative freedom you now enjoy, you will follow the money and grabs for power that we have, to realize for yourself the scam this agenda is.

If you think the stated green agenda would be implemented if they managed to get in place their carbon tax and cap scheme you would be quite naive. The major oil companies, alternative energy industry, and other major international staples companies are all in bed with the green movement to the extant that implementation would eliminate the smaller competition. Socialist utopia, no, more like fascism .

Are you preacher, or part of the choir, or do you just like to humor yourself in the scrimmage Ed?

Saw your post under what did you climb today. Still leading at a respectable level for an old man. Congratulations, but what will be your carbon costs for your frequent getaways in the future? I climbed the "not so beautiful rock" of the Monlith parts of the last two days. At 40 minutes and 25 miles house to parking area my consumption tax bill will be considerably less than yours.Freedom of access=something to think about.

our gubbmint IS one big conspiracy dirt.

You see Ron, you you're not on target here. Because it's not our gov't who's blowing the whistle. There are countries all over the world raising the AGW flag. The funny thing is, "our gubbmint" has been in denial, just like you, for the past couple of decades.

But I am wasting my time trying to convince you of things that you refuse to look at with an objective eye. And don't give me crap about being the same, because I am able to look at anything you post from the denier's camp, and show you where it goes afoul. This is most unlike the deniers, who refuse to take head-on the science.

Yes, the dear leader will be singing the tune to his rapidly dwindling choir tomorrow. You hotheads will be slobbering all over yourselfs with joy, oblivious of the misery the agenda would needleesly cause. If he overreaches, considering his sinking trust among the people, it might well be the straw that breaks the camels back.

How do you reconcile The Chiefs helping of humanity with his other views on issues like the topic of this thread? That's easy Bruce, he's right and the rest of you opposing are dead wrong.

http://www.spiegel.de/international/world/interview-hans-von-storch-on-problems-with-climate-change-models-a-906721.html

SPIEGEL: Just since the turn of the millennium, humanity has emitted another 400 billion metric tons of CO2 into the atmosphere, yet temperatures haven't risen in nearly 15 years. What can explain this?

Storch: So far, no one has been able to provide a compelling answer to why climate change seems to be taking a break. We're facing a puzzle. Recent CO2 emissions have actually risen even more steeply than we feared. As a result, according to most climate models, we should have seen temperatures rise by around 0.25 degrees Celsius (0.45 degrees Fahrenheit) over the past 10 years. That hasn't happened. In fact, the increase over the last 15 years was just 0.06 degrees Celsius (0.11 degrees Fahrenheit) -- a value very close to zero. This is a serious scientific problem that the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) will have to confront when it presents its next Assessment Report late next year.

SPIEGEL: Do the computer models with which physicists simulate the future climate ever show the sort of long standstill in temperature change that we're observing right now?

Storch: Yes, but only extremely rarely. At my institute, we analyzed how often such a 15-year stagnation in global warming occurred in the simulations. The answer was: in under 2 percent of all the times we ran the simulation. In other words, over 98 percent of forecasts show CO2 emissions as high as we have had in recent years leading to more of a temperature increase.

SPIEGEL: How long will it still be possible to reconcile such a pause in global warming with established climate forecasts?

Storch: If things continue as they have been, in five years, at the latest, we will need to acknowledge that something is fundamentally wrong with our climate models. A 20-year pause in global warming does not occur in a single modeled scenario. But even today, we are finding it very difficult to reconcile actual temperature trends with our expectations.
