And why is it stupid? It just is. It means nothing. And don't start in with the "But it's sooo fun!" sh#t. I know it's fun--so is Playstation. But when you're trad climbing and you're at the crux 10 feet above your last gear, and you realize you have enough juice left to either put in another piece, or try the move--but not the juice to do both!--now that's climbing. Thank you for your time. Now, back to your crags.

Dude, trad climbing is stupid. It's too easy. That is why sport is around, so those of us who can climb way harder, will. Who cares about a f*#king 5.9 that you have to protect. Big deal. I can go do a 5.13 and not have to carry all that extra sh#t just to climb some 5.9.

Go climb a 5.11 trad route. Problably won't need much gear. Takes more sack than some 5.13 bolted job.

Donny's got it right. And the best sport climbing is gym climbing. I can rip off scads of 5.12's in a row without any problem, no approach, bathrooms are right there, soft landings and the holds are easier to find. Not only that, but the routes change all the time, so I don't even have to find new places. It's so stupid to lug all that crap up to some granite crag, I mean, you want to climb not hike, right? And then I can take my shirt off and the chicks (and dudes) wanna piece of my stuff. I often can't believe how cool I am. But one look in the mirror and I remember what a ballsy dude I am. I'd f*#k myself if I could.

Video games are stupid and boring. Try driving your car like a psycho instead. It is much more fun and the consequences are REAL. No seat-belt allowed...

Climbing is climbing.

Donny,

Clipping bolts on free climbs is for babies. Write back once your testicles descend.

Donny, Just remember, trad climbing actually adds difficulty to the grade of a climb. There are both trad and sport leads up to a very high degree of difficulty, (5.13) and few would argue that placing gear on those routes doesn't add a degree of difficulty. Maybe you're just too wussy to place gear on routes at your limit. Or maybe you can't take the pain of difficult crack climbing?
