Woooo Hoooo !!!!!!!!
Really wonderful meeting everyone. All those climbing partners & couples that Brutus poured his life into. Lael really wanted to go to the campfire. By then I was so tired we could not find the well
Lit RV park we had dropped the trailer off at.
I would have dozed off trying to get back to Lone Pine campground.

Tarbuster and I climbed that "Pachinco Machine" in '78. 50 meter ropes. 9 pitches. Still full value/ poor man's Steck Salathe.
We also briefly met Franklin Merrell-Wolff (philosopher, mathematician, sage and Ashram builder) prior the climb.

And the South Face of Lone Pine Peak remains a lonelier place with Brutus gone.

We were honored to celebrate the life of a climber, Bruce B. Thanks for allowing us to be part of the group who knew the man in life. It was likewise an honor to be a part of an incredible group of people. Moria and I were lucky enough to meet a few of you who had previously eluded us (or we you). You know who you are. Of course, it was great to reconnect with the guys and gals we know from recent and not-so-recent past.
Thanks to Em and to the community spirit which pulled this together. Thanks to the people who spoke about Brutus. Thanks to everyone who made the effort to be there. Thanks to Jerry D., AV master and MC par excellence at the film museum (super nice link, JD, thanks again). Thanks to Robert and all at the Film Museum for opening arms and staying late.
Thank you, mooch, for acknowledging everyone's presence the way you did. You did so much to make us feel like we should be there. That simple gesture. I'm a little choked up thinking about that.
We split without being able to say much of a goodbye, nor were we able contribute to the costs of the event. If anyone can hook us up with info on who to send some dough to, TIA. ouscre aat hotmail dawt cahm.
We hoped to climb Fishhook arete on Monday, which we did not do for a couple of reasons. We were going to call it a backpacking trip to Iceberg Lake, but had a "what would Brutus do?" moment, when we decided that not at least roping up for Whitney East Butt would be outright blasphemy.
Salute to all of you for respecting your friend and climbing bro. Thanks for taking and posting all the great pix, and for putting your thoughts down here. Namaste.

I was great to meet the two of you Mike. When you came up to me at the campground it was like meeting an old buddy, for the first time.

Thank you, Dingus. Nice of you to say so. For me some things just transcend words and all that's left is a feeling. Great job of describing that feeling. I felt it too, brother.

For the record, I drank one Mammoth brewery dble nut brown ale ( the one in my hand in the photo) up there. There was however, convenient shade by that scene of Sierra Nevada debauchery ;-) When are we going to climb together again, Dingus?

Prolly not, but that could change....
What about that september song crack you mentioned a while back...
Is it my imagination or does 14re3 kinda look like the Dali Lama (see photo of of Wyde/Bindner Bros, above) I noticed this in the Ashram or maybe earlier at the campground, but was too shy to say anything....

That's not ringing a bell. I have a place of wydeness to show you. It involves about 2-miles of quite reasonable walking, but the dirt road approach is Bummer Flat-like.
I'm supposed to talk to Angus this evening, as we agreed to do some climbing this weekend. I'll shoot you an email and let you know what's up. Be great if you can join us or ... there's always NEXT TIME!
Whenever it is Jaybro, I look forward to it dude.
