thx Erik, just a slice works just fine.

seriously all, I'd urge us all to keep gathering and keep climbing. Any friends of Brutus and Em is a friend of mine. So even if I didn't get a chance to meet and/or spend as much time as I wanted with folks, ping me anytime. let's get some climbing going.

speaking of which, I'll be in the Mammoth Area this coming weekend, but will have limited distance I can go hike, since I'll have a family member in tow who has a bum knee. But I'll plan on having the last few swigs of the Turkey and toast one to Brutus for sure.

Special Turkey juice for sure. :)

Darlah, first, make sure your images are hosted online at something like Flickr, Photobucket, etc. then in the spot where it says "please enter your reply below" when you go to post just paste the URL of image between tags like these in the first image below... You can copy that URL of the image from the online source by right clicking and going to "Properties" if you have a Windows based machine.

Wow.

I had never met Brutus or Em before. Em greeted me like an old friend. She has an incredible energy and I instantly adored her.
As I spent a whole weekend helping with the house, hearing stories, and seeing the videos of Brutus's wonderful gap-toothed smile...
I found myself feeling intense regret over missing meeting them at Wide-fest.
We left a day before they showed up, and Erik was bummed when he found out they had come and we missed them.

I'm so blessed to have been part of such a wonderful event,
and delighted to have finally met so many people I've only know via. internet up till now. Great to see a few familiar faces too.

Amazing video Jerry!

A few more pictures now (apologies if I duplicate):

I admit I was ease dropping a bit on The Chief while he was telling stories and pointing out trails and routes up the canyon.

Bob strapping on the guitar:

Mike and Moria clowning around in the parking area.

Erik and I were joking about climbing the scary-looking 2- chockstone chimney on this face.
I said if it hasn't been named we'd call it "Pachinco Machine" since you'd be bouncing around like one of those ball bearings if you fell out of it.

Prayer flags on the stone house:

Someone (can't remember who)grabbed my camera and got a shot of me and my boy.

Erik bouldering the Shark's Fin:

Our last climb before heading home. Some mystery 5-10-somethin' sport climb with a weird roof move.

and a PS: Erik and I will be up at Mammoth this weekend. Some of us should get together and climb!

justthemaid it was sure good to meet you and Erik. Hope Mike and Moria fared well on the Fishhook!

That Pachinko machine route? Pat Brennan pointed to it and said...

'that's the smallest piece of rock in the canyon. Brutus and I climbed that chimney up the center, back in the 70s.

JTM- thanks for sharing. You (and mooch too,) made some nice photos. Wish I'd had more time to connect with you and Eric. I think that was me who grabbed your camera when you were doing the self portrait.

Dingus, It was great meeting you. Lets hook up at the pass soon.

My only regret from the weekend was having to leave early. I really wanted to see the slides and hear more stories. And we should have had a big group hug after that ceremony!

Chief, you bet! Only trouble is probably can't get too far from a car this weekend.

Can I take a nap on the way up when we do? LOL!!!

ping me if you didn't get Chris' info. The kid has skills, just keep him caloried up and he'll go for miles if he's not flying that funny Ozone contraption thing.

12 pitches. Holy Cow. It really doesn't look that tall.

Really great to meet you as well Dingus and Jerry! Enjoyed talking to both of you quite a lot.

JTM and MisterE,

I'll ping you later. Got the message. Maybe a bouldering session out at Faultline or Rick's Rocks on Saturday? We'll be staying in Mammoth Sat and Sun nights.

hope the smoke mellows out by then.

Jerry -

Great to meet you bro! Was hoping to talk with you more and see about getting the rusty hinges lubed up for some wall adventures. Rob, Chris and myself are drumming up plans to get the "all-star" 3rd ascent of 'Freak Show' sometime in Oct.

BTW, where was it again (sorry!) that we can locate the DVD/video for The Tempest gig? Sure wanna buy it!!

Rob -

Did you create that 'Hoffman mountain' thread? Can't find it, if you did. Nice to meet the Mrs. She cracked me up!

Great work, Jerry. Thanks.

Good seein' and meeting a bunch of you there. Good to put a face with a few of the screen names I'd not met in person.

Great service, Karl. Ditto all the "presenters".

The Stone House and the Lone Pine Museum: fantastic venues!

Cheers,

Hi Brian, great meeting and climbing with you.

Wanted to plug Valerio Folco on making the Tempest film, and tribute piece. I'll post the tribute online so everyone can see it again, and see if I can find a link to buy the Tempest DVD. Valerio's site is http://www.valeriofolco.com
