Of course professional help is required but, there is so much more at stake here: mental illness/chemical dependency/addiction/climbing is as good as it gets compared to spending eternity in hell!
When I first met Mark he told me he had been working on Mission Impossible at Mission Gorge in San Diego. I thought, now this kid has a vision, for not very many people have even attempted this route since its conception back in the seventies! I wish I had had more time to compare notes with him.

It seems that this thread turning into another poorly veiled atheism vs bible thumping rant, especially since there is already another thread much more direct and respectful of the deceased. Do we really need this? Enough already. Safe to say any more ranting will probably be counterproductive to either side's causes and should be shelved now as 'nuff said.

At funerals, why is it that most are presided over by men of God, and will most likely reside over your (atheists) funeral, but when it is brought up in a forum by a man of God upon the death of another, it is contested and thought of as disrespectful towards the person and their family? Do you think the families who grieve over the death of a loved one feel the same towards the clergy that resides over the funeral? The descedent is remembered and a plea for salvation that follows has to be one of the most respectful gestures I can think of!
Jesus Himself says, "Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake." - Matthew 5:11. What a promise!
This is not about me nor Mark for Mark and I's destinies have been settled. It is first about glorifying God and second about saving those whose destinies are not settled! This plea is for YOU!
We can continue to remember Mark, which I will, but I will also continue to praise God and meet resistance for Jesus said, "If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you." - John 18:3
Glory to God Mark!
