Does anyone know who has been bolting an area @ the intersection of Tahoe Mtn. Rd. and Lake Tahoe Blvd...500m or so past sawmill pond?
This area is about the opposite of secret (completely visible from both roads) so i dont think it'll ruffle any feathers posting on here.

There is a large, kind of freestanding 50 foot boulder that has one route on the backside and 2/3 on the front. In addition to this there are a couple interesting boulder problems, and some more of uninteresting ones.

The area bears signs of 70s aid climbing gear - a couple old pitons and the remnants of an old bolt ladder.

The routes on the left and right of the face of the boulder and the one on the backside have brand new looking bolts.

The route on the left looks like an aid route? (the bottom two bolts of climbing are hangerless and are on completely blank and slick rock, not even jibs won't go free until maybe 3rd bolt).
I climbed the route on the right, kind of fun, it has an easy layback start, and then some weird face/squeezing moves feels maybe 11+/12-

I can take pics, but was wondering by who/when this was bolted...what are the grades?

Its just fun to find yet another little area i've never heard about right here in SLT.

thanks for the reply.

as i said in the post, the bolted line on the right is pretty interesting, but kind of badly bolted IMHO.

has a weird stopper move in the middle - i hung lead it, and then TR'd it once. if i had to guess, i'd give it .12a/b - but it's really like a 5.10 w/ a V4 ish thing in the middle...there are two new bolts and one late 80s cave rockish looking 1/4 incher waaaaay too far left.

The line on the left doesn't look like the bottom would go free, even if the bolts had hangers.

Didn't do the line on the back cause it as in the sun, and it was 88 degrees when i was there, but it looks like a fun small 10+/11-? dunno, could be 5.9 or 5.11+ if you wanna go out there and check it out, lemme know, its not terribly exciting, but perhaps worth lookin at.

There is also an interesting V-hardish looking cave/roof boulder problem

have you done that cave traverse one that goes out a roof? didn't try it, just looked at it, and it looks kinda cool, but maybe hard.

yeah dude, thats it...but i think i was looking at linking that one into some crimps and then pulling the roof thing, that looked pretty tough. maybe its the same line, like i said didn't try or do it so no idea about grades of either...maybe i'll see you out there around 5 or so.
