OK, I am probably making a fool of myself, but I was wondering what exactly is spam(spamming on Supertopo specificaly). I am pretty new at going on line/internet(last 5-6 months)and have heard the word(spam)used many times, and just figured they were talking about the pop-ups that are always doing just that(popping-up).
But on Supertopo I haven't realy noticed that, unless you are talking about, occasionally certain people using the opportunity to redirect readers to their own website. Which I have noticed a couple of times and thought it was a little disrespectful or somehow cheap. Or they posted a thread and somehow included their web-page/advertising their business etc. at the end(made me sort of wonder if this was the main intention to begin with).
So I am just trying to learn something new. And therefore be on the lookout for such scoundrels, and also avoid falling into such a breach of etiquette myself.

People will just put a post to their business out there--not climbers,
just spamming. Pretty easy to spot. Just Don't Do It.
