Was there a blowout sale on Coleman 10-man tents or something? Every Camp 4 site looks like MC Hammer's crib. I'm waiting to see a 2-story tent go up. Photos Welcome.

4 season single wall bibler tents are way more appropriate for camp 4

I like to pitch my VE-24 inside my 8-person dome tent, and if weather is really nasty, I pitch my bivy sack inside that.

That's such a bad ass idea. You look Taj Mahal ghetto like but on the insid you're full-on high-tec expedition. Plus it means you have a patio.

Tuolumne Meadows campground is even better when the summer rains hit there. I LOVE to see the knuckleheads that set the tents up in low ground or seasonal "streams". One good thing about those situations, the campground can clear out after a good rain or hail storm, from all the flooded tents and soaked gear that was in the tents. Getting that time of year!

Ha, I had a friend who called his ginormous tent the Tent Mahal. We once hid someone else's tent inside of it. . .

I thought this would be a music thing; 'Taj Mahal providing inspiriation for midnight lightng' or some such.

My twelve yr old Expedition 25 is not as waterproof as it used to be, but they still stand behind it, and it still rocks.

Who needs a tent? It's way more fun to spend the nights getting thwarted by a storm in a bivy sack. Surreal at times with the wind/hail that usually comes.

I saw 10 euros poppin out of a coleman (medium Arkansas family size) they had a cupboard and poker table in there I think. The "Bidet" or "Huevos washer" was located in the corner of the doorway by the cappuccino machine.

except in the case of actual weather, a premium tent is a maybe not the best choice for season at time camping. it's kind of sad to see the sun rot happen so fast, and the grinding of grit, animal assault, spark holes, etc on your mission critical tent seems unnecessary. an alternate tent at 1/4th the price can add some real longevity to your prized expedition equipment.

i learned this the hard way between february and may in the pines campground bitd. we setup in the center point of a loop where any one of a number of neighbors might have thought we were in the back part of their yard but far enough back that it never prevented any of those sites from being reoccupied after a vacancy. no vehicle can be a real plus
