a new movie just came out: Fly The Line 2

its got the best wingsuit basejumping shot to date... these are the guys who really know how to fly close to stuff... make that REALLY close to stuff

here is the trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kyeelrq6Xs4

here is where you buy it (its not the most stream-lined ordering process... but worth it)

http://www.phoenix-fly.com/products/order_other_USA.htm

or you can just call and order it: (813) 780-8961

one of the main guys in the movie actually almost went in flying too close to the ground... luckily it was powder snow or he would probably be done. here is the video of that accident

and if the ordering is a pain, and there is enough interest, i could potentially buy a bunch and resell them here on the site

Chris; that suit looks a bit different than the one’s I’ve seen before. Looks like it has air tunnels or something. Do one have one?

all the suits fill up with air and have funnels... but that one has the most and is generally agreed to be the base BASE jumping suit for going far... i have an older model of that suit but prefer a smaller suit that flys a little slower so that its easy for two people to fly close. my suit is also easier to fly when you are off the couch most of the time like me

the suit they are flying is the vampire 3 - http://www.phoenix-fly.com/products/wingsuit_Vampire_v3.htm

here is a cool little movie that shows the factory where they make the vampire 3 - http://www.phoenix-fly.com/videomenu/videogallerynew.htm

i fly the phantom 1 - which is like the phantom 2 here http://www.phoenix-fly.com/products/wingsuit_Phantom2.htm

Wow, Cool didn’t notice before it just looked like webbing. It’s got to be a kick in the ass! Be careful man.

The link to the accident isn't working. But the trailer is pretty heads up.

Thanks for the links!

I found this disturbing quote on the wingsiut ordering website:

"The Vampire 3 lead time is currently 14-16 weeks due to extremely high demand*. "

Extremely high demand! Hah! I used to take comfort in the fact that not very many people did the squirrel suit gig...not the case apparently.

Anyway, kidding aside, this is very cool stuff. I am a big fan, but I'll stick to the rock...at least for now.

Not that I should even consider getting into that, but out of curiosity, whats the approximate glide ratio of a wingsuit?

those guys are probably in the range of 2.5 - 1 to 2.8 - 1 glide ratio

the elusive 3:1 glide ratio will be achieved shortly on a base jump... if it has not already
