Two of my friends went up Dihedral Wall on Monday. Anybody reporting from the Valley this week? I need to figure out when they top out so I can greet them on the summit with refreshments :)

Thanks much!

I was also thinking of greeting them but it sounds like they top out on Monday and I have to work...If you hear they are going to top out on Saturday or Sunday, shoot me an email...

I just climbed Lost World(third times the charm on the bolt replacement) and when I was walking up last Friday night I saw headlamps and folks rapping down the slab rappel route from Pitch 5 or 6 of Dihedral. I assumed that it was those two that I had seen earlier in the week.

We topped out Monday and met up with Aaron who had just soloed Mescalito, reporting it a fine line of free hangingness and cruiser crackness.

Later that night a party topped out on the Nose.

Sitting on the Porch the Southeast Face was empty. Guess everyone went back to bouldering.

The Nose and Freerider were hopping before we went up, but didn't look as busy when we got down.

The weather is a splitter as it gets. Not even that cold at night on top. The Moon heading toward Jupiter in Aquarius and Mars/Venus in Pisces on the Southern horizon brought the Zodiac to life before the bedazzling high Sierra sunrise.

Yeah, they were feeling a little under the weather already when I spoke to them Sunday or Monday. The planned topout day was for next Monday.

While bailing on an EC route isn't nearly as good as topping out (done both a few times now), it sure as hell beats being stuck in a cubicle jungle!!!!
