That's really frightening!

The print news industry in the US has been commiting suicide for years.

Looks like the same may apply across the pond.

Yesterday's LA Times reported that schools are crowded with people learning to repair tower windmills. It was said the job is like " working on a school bus perched on the top of a very high pole." The students have to be unafraid of heights and able quickly to climb 450 feet several times a day. Someone from a local firm, Clipper Wind Power, showed a picture of the inside of one of these. It really is as big as a school bus or bigger.

I suspect what needs to be maintained are electronic control systems, their actuators, brakes and maybe an occasional bearing. Interesting.

I know if I had to go up and down a 450 foot ladder time and again, I would leave a 450 foot rope hanging and just rap down.
