Yeah its a slog to get out there (though as you mention, it has its charm!), yeah the rock is chossy, but its super featured, yeah..uhhh I dont know other negative thoughts...but its fun, different, unique, and sometimes whining inducing.
You can climb there year round playing the shade game. You can get 3-4 pitches up on bolts (anomaly for the Bay Area). You can beat your chest and down rate routes (which they probably deserve), you can proclaim loudly to the world the place is a shithole (common response!), you can send blocks of terror down on your belayer(if you really don't like them).
The one thing you can't do? Pretend you're in a gym climbing plastic...
