Is there snow on the ground at the base of Tahquitz right now? And can anyone recommend a good 5.7/5.8 that would be in the sun this coming weekend? Many thanks.

i called someone up there and didnt get an answer, try calling nomad ventures, they usualy know whats going on up there. they did get a bunch of snow a couple weeks ago, so the cracks might be wet, but its been warm so there is probably some climbable stuff, especially on suicide.

Taquitz is more or less a south-west face, therefore it gets good sun exposure. The base will probably not have snow except where the trees provide a lot of shade. My reccomendations are Fingertrip Traverse and Traitor Horn, both of which are more to the south.
