Third day out on the stone in January--ahh...winter bouldering in Montucky.

Ben pulling off his first ever lay-back.

6'7" Ben wondering how 5'5" mojede got up this pebble arete.

Not wanting to leave before topping this boulder out, Ben finds a way.

Hopefully, more to come...

Hell yeah Moj! Looks like the melt off is going pretty good.

Beacon Crack, nice!

Weekend is gonna be sunny and in the 40s! oh yeah!

Pat wants to check out Dockin's roof, and the stuff around there...I was thinking if it was dry enough we could walk up beyond the halfway creek dome and check out the stuff up that way.

I keep having these dreams about somewhere in the batholith...there is a creek with an old stone cabin or mill with a water wheel...there were some cool problems in there...hope I can find my way to them...

Tom, Dockins' crack should be dry, including the exit--the other OWs there may be iffy. Expect 2-8 inches of crusty junk snow to tromp around in, due to the no-sun factor there, but I'm game to check out the area:-)

Stayin in the sun would be the smart thing to do...but we could just bop down there too. There is also the stuff Whitmore and I checked out around Halloween...

How is the road from the Homestake side? You talk to Ben about his trip to the lake?

Couple more from the Druthers...

No go bro, on the Homestake side. Ben and his dad were pulling rigs out of the ditch left and right--dumases that think they can drive to Delmoe without heavy-duty snow-goin' gear. The melting might help reduce the snowpack on the road, but the icy ruts are deep and gnarly.

Eventually, they came back and went to Delmoe via Pipestone.

LOL!

Guess we'll stay in the lower elevations for awhile longer...
