Not talking about technical difficulty. I'm looking for hellish hauling, lots of dirt, copious amounts of loose rock, nasty critters in the cracks, wet or slimy cracks, hideous traverses, low angle and ledgy pitches, and any other stuff that would make this climb a pure, unabridged trip through Hades.

Mirage?
West Buttress?
Aquarian Wall?
The Heart Route?
Chineese Water Torture?

Bring it...

Something technically easy, but low-angle, like Lurking Fear could be tough. You would want a Far End Hauler setup on top of your pig, for sure.

Never Never Land gets soloed every now and then - it is steep once you get above Timbuktu Towers.

I never met an El Cap route I didn't like, although there are a few pitches...

Theoretically, and not considering the difficulty of the aid climbing, just the logistical nightmares of soloing, I'd say the Girdle Traverse. Although one of th super far west routes would be a hassle to supply and haul.

So when do we hear about your Magic Mushroom odyssey? 17 days wasn't it? If so, you beat my first solo [Iron Hawk] by a full day.

Serious? I'd say the Nose. Hard hauling, lots of free, and tons of people. Aaron liked it, but he also had no pig.

...but "Worst El Cap" anything is kind of an oxymoron...

west buttress. lots of hiking (approach and descent), some healthy traverses, bad hauling last 1/4 of route

Now THAT is the way to solo a big wall - right on, dude!

Gotta love your self-chiropractic fix. I think I cracked a rib on a horizontal daisy chain fall when soloing Iron Hawk. Those were the days when I was still skinny, and my ribs stuck out.

Good to see you got your ipod back mike, that was at the top of a heap of booty i managed to find on a walk up to the aquarian wall. to keep things thred oriented, most likely all booty gear was dropped off people's respective "worst el cap solos ever". there was some bangin music on that thing though! i was psyched when it turned on, but somehow couldnt access the playlist...

It's all about the nature of the mandatory free climbing.

but technical climbing aside

The worst El Cap routes to solo are probably the ones that don't ever get climbed regardless of the difficulty. They'd be hard to name since they are ignored.

Peace
