Just a few rich guys reaction to not getting bailed off their asses when they invested in companies who didn't know how to run business. Good thing your GOv't hasn't bailed them out yet.
It's helping the oil bubble out too.

Not at all like 29. I was there in 29, and this doesn't measure up.

Today's drop was only 6.8% of the market, where as 1987 and the great depression had 20%, per day drops.
Opportunity, indeed. :)

Nefarious, you are only looking at the Dow, which is the narrowest and most irrelevant of the indexes. The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq are both down about 9%.

hate to contribute to this thread, but maybe this will drive california housing prices down so people can afford homes.
yes, duh, it's a naive statement, but trying to get housing in this state is a beeyotch of a process and it's only going to get worse.

Regardless, granite, it's the same across the board. The "crash" of today, doesn't compare to the crash of the great depression or 1987. Not even half of the losses the markets saw then. It's simply more gloom and doom from the media. Not saying it's not bad, it's just (as usual) not nearly as bad as they make it out to be.
I agree with you Munge and am waiting for the bottom too. I've got no problems writing a check for 25%+ down payment to take a house off the hands of some lame f*#ktard who overspent his means, which is pretty much any house for sale in Cali right now... Again, a lot of people getting what they deserve and none too happy about it. Call the wahbulance.
