I have been in many arguments with mainly repubs here on supertopo about why the US shouldn't socialize medicine. Fine, no one has even figured out how to do it well.
What I can't figure out is, why is your government spending 725 billion this week to essentially socialze two groups of CORPORATIONS? Groups who can't run their businesses well, and in a free market would be out of business, and where there are better alternatives?
Your tax money has now gone to reward CEO's for doing a terrible job - instead of coming back as any benefit to you - including if you were sick.
If GM makes cars that don't rate as high in Consumer Reports - therefore I buy a Toyota for reliablity, GM has problems selling cars. WHY give them 25 BILLION reward?
Why give companies who made terrible financial/mortgage decisions 700 BILLION of your money that should do YOU some good?
WHY argue against recieving benefit from your tax dollars with me when your government gives it to these clowns?

I'm Canadian, from BC, my elected representitives are making a lot more of my tax dollars work for me already.
I'm ranting at these morons who so strongly oppose getting any use from their tax dollars. Using current events to prove the arguments I was making with them earlier.
The reason I didn't single out Dems is that they weren't the ones arguing with me. Plus, they profess to like to do this sort of thing in the first place.

Not socialist, socialist for the RICH.
For the rest it's trickle down economics, or catch as catch can, or a 'free' market.
IT's a funny thing. The US gov MAY help you, if you are on your last legs, sick, with less than 3k in assets, and you can get though the red tape, and they probably WON'T help you if you are returning disabled American Vet (again, they offer 600 bucks a month and say go away now to those guys), but if you are a millionaire, they seem to fall all over themselves throwing money at your problems.
