Hello climbers,

I made some high-resolution time-lapse sequences of two sections of the record setting climb on Wednesday. The hand-off on the king swing is a full resolution sub-set of the other king swing sequence.

This was a test of my new robotic camera mount that automates taking time lapse movies and panoramas, which is described here: http://www.thegadgetworks.com

Very cool!!!

I like seeing Hans' spin on the rope as he starts across the King Swing (that posters mentioned in some of the other threads).

I am glad that people enjoyed the time-lapse sequences.

If I had been really on the ball and if I had dome some research on Hans and Yuji's previous climb, I might have been able to program the AutoMate to automatically track the dynamic duo through their entire climb, creating a full-length time-lapse movie of the event. I could have also anticipated when the most interesting sections would occur, like the King Swing, and automatically shorten the interval between exposures for those segments. Well, maybe in September!

I think a collaboration with ElCap pics will get the job done
