I just put the old Forrest Lifetime Ice axe picks on Ebay if anyone is interested. All 30 of them in one auction!

My partner Jimmy Newberry used to climb with two molnars; they were great for single swing placements but it seemed every other placement would just get welded into the ice. I think Jimmy used three time the energy getting his tools out of the ice as he had used getting them into the ice. And yes, I used to bash my knuckles regularly using Forrest tools. I never broke one, but that might be because I moved on to something a little less self-abusive before I broke it. Lord, but did I ever break the tips off of tools back in the day!
Cheers, everyone, the ice is forming up here in the central Rockies!
