I just received my vintage postcard from the guy that hates plastic. It's pretty cool and it got me thinking we should have a thread devoted to vintage Yosemite Postards.

I have not won any, but i have been a collector of old postcards for over 20 years. I have given some away in -no plastico contests. Still have a few..here is a cool one..painting of Yosemite Valley 1930's

I hope the pause is cause everyone is running to the scanners. Since I have very little chance of winning a i abhor plastic postcard, this thread is the only way I am going to see any of these.

I tell ya. . . there would be some BIG money in putting out a line of retro cards like this . . I just LOVE them! The tackier the better. Post-a-cards (as my sainted Gran used to call them) these days are WAY too plastic. They need to be fun and colorful like these. Especially with only 2 cars in the lot at Tunnel View!

Ah Nita You are too kind. You tried to let me win. Maui is the 2nd largest. I have biked around the entire Island more than once. Biked up the 10,000 ft of Haleakala again much more than once.
John, My Big Isle bud beat me to the punch.
My favorite Island is Lanai. I go there a few times a year. The climbing is a little tough and if I remember correctly, Largo wrote an article on climbing and Lanai a few moons ago. I think it was in “Rock, Ice, and Plastic” I dunno.

OMG!
I used to write letters to people like that. . . with questions that had multiple answers to check. . . I LOVED doing those. . . the recipients thought they were HILARIOUS. . . and I'd usually get WAY better letters back than if I were to have sent just a normal letter. . . I ALWAYS left room for elaboration!

Great stuff! I am enjoying a virtual road trip to yesteryear here (channeling Huell Howser!). Love the Badger Pass postcard. Reminds me of climbing that roof with my then four year old daughter in a big snow year back in the early nineties.

I went out to the Antiques Mall here today and scrounged around the cards, but all I came up with was another couple from the Cathedral group and one showing a rappeler on what looks to be Selaginella, Upper Falls roaring in the backround. It's a 60s vintage, many of you have seen it. Wish me a scanner.
