Tobia,

Thanks for Bye Bye Bird. Sonny Boy Williamson is a different breed. It's swinging as hell. His Bye Bye Bird could even be an ironic statement and it wouldn't matter for the pure brilliance of the blues.

you can call me ray...
but why two Sonny Boy Williamsons'?

John Lee Curtis Williamson was first with the name but A. "Rice" Miller was first with the talent and dubious character rating. He's the one that was sought after by the British and American Bluesmen and others.

Yeah I can dig it. Same thing happened to Ron McKernan. Clearly Ron was a better musician than the cartoon dude.

So far as I can tell nobody has misappropriated Skeeter's name. It is said that Connie Francis turned this down before Merrilee took it all the way to #7.

@Tobia: A number of years back I rode my bike along the entire route of the Rose Parade while it was in progress. At the end, sitting in somebody's front yard with what appeared to be a good chunk of the family was Willie Dixon. I didn't want to intrude, so I missed my big chance to shake his hand. This is about what he looked like. That man had some hands.

I hope you gave him a nod; I know what you mean about disrupting the space. Willie is responsible for my love of the blues. I can't remember where I was but somebody covered Tail Dragger and credited Willie Dixon with it. I was at the record store the next day (all vinyl in those days) looking like crazy.
