Mr B, I am not an elegant hostess... but If i have time, i do like to spoil my guests and make them feel welcome.. I think Bill really enjoyed hanging with a fellow birdbrain... and he and Andy have a similar sense of humor...Actually you and Bill do too... ps..I didn't know he was thinking about moving here..The summers can be brutal, though we would enjoy having him around.

hey there say, T hocking...

i always remembered and wondered about that song, as, when a kid, i heard it on the radio, AMONG all the 'happy dance song's and etcs...

well, grown up, of course, i took to learn...
NOW, living here in mich, NEAR these great lakes,
whenever i heard the song, i cry...

very real, of course, not just a song--
it was the last days of theses men's lives...

:(

thanks for sharing...
glad they are remembered, in ways that others can
go back and WANT to know, about others, that have 'walked this earth'...

we are all important, in different and special ways...
to not only our loved ones, but to others...

*i remember the life of the cook, on that coast guard rescue, that was recently turned into a movie...

he was the only one, (of the SURVIVORS aboard) that was not rescued, sadly (others had died, during the damage)... :(

if i remember right, the rescue boat? accidentally crushed into him?

the crew, by a miracle, did not get overpowered and drowned,
and made it and back... off the new england coast...
oh my...

You would not believe the musical journey that I've just returned from
thanx it all started with nee bee's post
and then l - I lost my mind
I used to go to a few festivals a summer
your next vist to Flames will give you some ideas,
no ship wrecks or train wrecks
mmmm that might not be a bad description
the Devils banjo...!
Sweet sounds to barefoot in the mud
you might see a young gnome...
bluegrass recreationalls
this is nice

while THocking is well initiated the full face plant in Flames to night
may need advanced understanding of white trash ...
Not that there is anything wrong with that

Poco... Both the King Crimson, and the very cool share of the Knitters,
Which led me to Angry Johnny & the killerbillies

Bill Callahan, Tiny desk concert..Not sure if this is a repeat for me, I play his music a lot.. .I find his singing.. rich, deep, mesmerizing , hypnotic and calming.
The instruments add a hauntingly beautiful wall of sound...

Well gNome - that Kingston Trio Clip is a new one on me. Fantastic.

Can anyone even imagine how much $$$$ Jerry Lee left on the table by turning down the Brylcreem deal?

The Taj Mahal video upstairs and this one are the best combo of tunes and old video ever (well, in my weird opinion anyway)
