Say there say Nita Bonita - I'd buy that rancho in Stinson, except the water is sooooo cold up there, even the thought of you and the Timid Man coming to visit can't move me on this one.

San Diego beach audience can be a tough crowd. Ask Tom Wolfe.

Probably a better prospect is Neil Young or (of course) Tiny Montgomery

Hare Krishna?

Now that's a great doggone song ya put up there (and) I had never heard it b4. This Neil Young guy is pretty good. Well, he's no Miles Davis, but Bob Dylan even likes him, turns it up, someone says to turn it down. I don't like it but I guess that's how things happen.

There are some folks who can make a $4Million purchase decision based upon water temperature. People are strange, no?

Anyway, sticking to the topic at hand, this fellow has and has listened to every Neil Young album ever (according to him). I don't know about bootlegs and other live recordings, but he was kind enough to count down 35 Neil Young albums from worst to best.

Is this strange? Audio from the Matrix 1967, video from Ed Sullivan show. That's what it says.

Is it really necessay to go all the way from worse to best, or bad to worse, when we've got Super Bad right on the tips of our fingers?

Doug played on stage with Hank Williams Sr. at his last gig.

Say Jon. Bob Dylan was an early admirer of Doug Sahm.

Bob Dylan interview 1965 - At the San Francisco Press
Conference broadcast live on on KQED-TV Dec. 3, 1965, a reporter
asks, "Are there any young folksingers that you recommend we
hear?" and Dylan replies, "I'm glad you asked that...Oh yeah,
there's the Sir Douglas Quintet. I think are probably the best
that are going to have a chance to reach the commercial
airwaves. They already have with a couple of songs."

Here's a sample from the famous Thanksgiving jam of 1972 and a link to more.

The long version.

1947 - At age 6, he performs "Teardrops in My Heart" on
KMAC's "Stars Over San Antonio" show. At this point, Sahm is
already proficient on triple-neck steel guitar, mandolin,
fiddle, guitar, and playing by ear ! This was followed by two
years of radio appearances on the Mutual network. He became a
featured player on the Louisiana Hayride country radio program
by age eight, .Known as Little Doug Sahm, he would often sit in
at live performances of such greats as Webb Pierce, Hank
Thompson and Faron Young.
